💥New Chapter 11 Bankruptcy - Fluid Market Inc.💥
Back on October 16, 2024, CO-based Fluid Market Inc. and affiliate Fluid Fleet Services LLC (together, the “debtors”) filed chapter 11 bankruptcy cases in the District of Delaware (Judge Goldblatt). The debtors claim to be “driving a future where commercial fleets are instantly accessible and energy-efficient” and available “at the tap of a button.”
Say what now?
The epic origin story for this POS goes back to Colorado in ‘16 when then-CEO and Edward Norton-wannabe James Eberhard and his sister Jenifer Snyder (together, “J&J”) co-founded an online marketplace/platform where one could rent anything from power tools to … *scratches head* … bounce houses. Then J&J noticed something. “People kept coming back to the Platform to rent trucks; that was Fluid Market’s “light bulb” moment,” interim CEO T. Scott Avila, a founding partner at Paladin Management Group LLP, says in the first day declaration on behalf of the debtors. Get your bounce elsewhere, punks. J&J shifted gears to focus on truck rentals. Nothing if not ambitious, J&J set “a goal of becoming the Uber of truck rentals (without the driver).” LOL, 👌.
